Glossary

Agent — A model-backed worker that reads a workspace, runs tools, and produces diffs, commands, or structured output.

Workspace — A folder plus its settings: model, permissions, and exclusions. The unit of agent context.

Run — One unit of agent work, from prompt to result. Runs are addressable and streamable.

Surface — Where an agent runs: desktop, CLI, or API. All surfaces share the same run model.

Permission — A checkpoint that gates tool use. Modes: allow, review, ask.

Diff — Proposed file changes from a run, held for review before anything is written.

Plan mode — A run variant that produces an editable plan instead of applying changes.
