Your first workspace

Create a workspace, point an agent at it, and review the first run.

A workspace is a folder plus its settings: which model runs, which tools are allowed, and what the agent may touch without asking.

Create a workspace

From the desktop app:

  1. Open Workspaces → New.
  2. Pick a project folder on disk.
  3. Choose a model and a permission mode.
  4. Save.

Or from the CLI, inside your project:

optamus init

This writes an optamus/ settings folder in your repo. Commit the shared config, keep the local secrets out.

Run your first agent

optamus run "Summarize the open TODOs in src/ and propose a plan"

The agent reads the workspace, proposes a plan, and waits at permission checkpoints you configured.

Review the run

Every run produces a timeline: prompts, tool calls, file diffs, and outputs. Approve, edit, or discard changes before anything is written.

Next: Run agents from the CLI.
